What You Can Do with the Loomi AI Content Assistant
Here's how you can leverage the AI Content Assistant to streamline your workflows:

- Text Summarization: Turn a lengthy document into a concise summary. Useful for newsletter teasers, social media posts, or executive overviews.
- Tags Extraction: Identify key themes and keywords in your content to help categorize and optimize it for search and navigation.
- Text Expansion: Start with a short idea or rough draft, the Loomi AI Content Assistant develops it into fuller, more detailed content.
- Text Translation: Translate content into other languages directly in the CMS to speed up multilingual workflows.
- Sentiment Analysis: Understand the emotional tone of your content and whether it reads as positive, negative, or neutral. Useful for maintaining consistent brand voice.
- Check and Fix Spelling and Grammar: Catch and correct errors before publishing, no external tool needed.
- Improve Readability: Refine sentence structure and word choice so your content is clearer and easier to read.
- Optimize for Search Engines: Improve content for better search visibility with keyword, structure, and metadata suggestions.
If you prompt the AI assistant on an image type unsupported by the configured AI model, it may return a general response like "We are having trouble processing your request right now. Please try again later."
Repeatedly getting such a response on an image-based operation might mean that its file type is unsupported by the model used.
- Persistent Chat History (v16.6.0+): Your conversation history stays available for your full session. Create, rename, and manage multiple conversation threads so you can pick up where you left off.
- Extended Context with References (v16.6.0+): The AI can reference and process content from multiple specified documents within the BrXM repository. This allows the AI to draw on broader internal CMS knowledge for creating and editing content accurately and consistently.
- Role-Based Access (v16.7.0+):Control who uses the Loomi AI Content Assistant through role-based access management. Restrict the feature to specific teams for a focused rollout, and expand access as adoption grows. See Initialize and Configure the Loomi AI Content Assistant] for details.
-
PDF Support for Maximum Context(Available from v16.7.0):The AI Content Assistant now supports PDF documents for both primary context and reference. This powerful enhancement allows you to:
-
Use any CMS PDF asset as context for AI content generation.
-
Reference existing PDF brand, legal, or accessibility guidelines.
-
Ensure content is compliant with documented guidelines by giving the AI access to established standards in their original PDF format.
-
-
Similarity Search (Available from v16.8): The AI Content Assistant is powered with the Search Agent to help you find content in your repository that is similar to the document you are currently working on. See Search Agent: Find Content Across Your Repository section below for more information.

Search Agent: Find Similar Content Across Your Repository
The Search Agent extends the Loomi AI Content Assistant beyond the document you have open. Its core capability is similarity search: given the document you're working on, it can help you surface the most semantically related content in your repository by conversational search, including documents that use different terminology or sit in different sections.
What the Search Agent Can Help You With
Finding Similar Documents:
-
The Search Agent aids in finding overlapping material, including documents that use different terminology or sit in different sections of the repository.
-
When something changes, when a product, policy, or term is updated, it helps identify which documents discuss similar topics so editors know where to look first.
-
For editorial planning, get a picture of existing content on a theme to inform new writing or consolidation decisions.
Repository-wide Natural language search(Incubating):
You can also ask free-form questions about your repository, such as "Do we have any document about GDPR compliance?" or "Search for documents about our loyalty programme."
This capability is early-access and subject to change. Results may be incomplete or imprecise. Do not use for processes that require exhaustive or verifiable results.
How It Works
When you ask the Loomi AI Content Assistant to search, Search Agent looks across indexed documents in your repository and returns the most relevant results as clickable links. Click any result to open that document in a new tab directly in the CMS editor.
The Search Agent finds content by semantic meaning, not exact phrases. It surfaces related content even when different terminology is used.
Results respect your permissions. You only see content you already have access to in the CMS.
What's indexed depends on how your administrator configured the Search Agent:
- published documents (default),
- saved unpublished documents, if preview mode is enabled.
If you're unsure, ask your administrator.
A newly published or saved document may take a few minutes to become available.

How to Access and Use the Tool
The AI Assistant is accessible within the BrXM CMS interface. Follow these general steps:
-
Navigate to the content perspective: Open the document you want to work on.
-
Open the Assistant: Click the "Ask AI' button in the CMS UI to open the Loomi AI Content Assistant chat panel.
-
Interact with the Assistant: Ask the Loomi AI Content Assistant to work with the open document, or describe what you need in natural language.
-
Add references: Expand the context of your conversation by adding documents and PDF assets from your CMS repository.
-
Review and apply: The Loomi AI Content Assistant responds with suggestions. You decide what to apply to your document, nothing changes without your action.
How to use Chat history (Available from v16.6.0):
The functionality to save different chat sessions (conversations) in the history is available for all providers starting from v16.6.
The AI Assistant chat keeps your conversation history for the duration of your CMS session until the server restarts. You can create, manage, and rename conversation threads, and you can continue previous discussions without losing context when switching topics or documents.
The system automatically generates and assigns a name to each conversation for identification purposes. This name can be edited by the user at any time.
-
Accessing History: When you open the Loomi AI Content Assistant Panel, the system shows chat history with all available user conversations.
-
Starting a New Conversation: If you open the Loomi AI Content Assistant panel with no conversation history, the system will show an empty history. Start chatting with the AI Assistant to create a new chat thread. You can create multiple conversation threads with the AI Assistant.
-
Managing Conversations: The system uses AI-suggested titles for initial conversation naming. Users can rename conversations for easier identification.
-
Maintaining Context: Since the history persists, you can continue previous discussions, ensuring the Loomi AI Content Assistant retains the context necessary for multi-step tasks.
How to use Extended Context (Available from v16.6.0):
The Loomi AI Content Assistant can reference and process content from multiple specified documents within the BrXM repository. Please note that attaching large documents or files, or too many of them, to a conversation, can have a significant impact to token usage for that conversation.
-
Access the Reference selector: References are added through a context selection dialog. Click + Add reference located at the top of the chat box to open the selector.
-
Select Internal References (CMS Content): Within the dialog, you can choose an internal document or image from the BrXM repository.
-
You can name each reference for identification.
-
Additionally, a "Usage Prompt" can be added to guide the Loomi AI Content Assistant on how to utilize the specific reference. References can serve to provide extra context and information for the chat, or to offer specific guidelines regarding writing style, brand consistency, and best practices for content generation.
-
Multiple references can be added to a conversation.
-
-
Reference in Chat: Once added, all active references are shown in a dropdown menu. You can refer to the active items by their display name in natural language within your messages (For example, "Summarize Document X using the writing style of reference Y").
-
The AI is well versed with the term "reference", it's recommended to use that keyword.
-
You can override the initial "purpose" of a reference in subsequent messages if needed.
-
You can remove a reference from the context of this conversation by clicking the remove button.
-

Let the AI Explain Itself
You can even ask the BrXM AI Content Assistant questions directly within the chat interface to learn more about its capabilities and how it can help you. Here are some questions you might ask:
-
"What can you help me with in brXM?"
-
"How can you help me with text summarization?"
-
"What kind of grammar issues can you check and fix?"
-
"Can you help me translate content, and if so, how?"
-
"Can you search for related content in the repository?"(if Search Agent is enabled)
Extensibility

Limitations
-
Asset fields and document types are not supported except PDFs.
-
Value list fields and document types are not supported.
-
The assistant is only available in the content perspective.
-
Document-level operations - such as inserting generated text - require manual action. The Loomi AI Content Assistant suggests; you apply.
-
References are specific to a single conversation and user. They're not shared or global.
-
Conversation history is session-based. If your server restarts, history clears.
-
Search results are limited to indexed content (published by default, or unpublished content if preview mode is enabled); results are ranked by semantic similarity, not exact matches; and your CMS permissions apply.
-
The Search Agent returns up to 5 results per query. It does not return an exhaustive list of all matching documents.
-
The Search Agent tesults are based on semantic similarity and are non-deterministic. Do not rely on Search Agent results for processes that require exact, complete, or verifiable output.
